Painting and Distressing Furniture
We offer a variety of choices when painting furniture and a variety of finishing styles including distressing and antique glazing. Here are some of our recent projects using chalk paint and a spray on modern paint by Benjamin Moore.
This cabinet needed a 'rethink', it had been 'patched up' and needed the 'Heirloom Restored' touch. We repaired it, added the pie safe panels to give it some personality and then 'shabby chic'd' it in gray with a distressed finish.
This vintage table and chairs was falling apart, after a careful rebuild and refinish/shabby chic treatment and reupholstering the chairs it looked better than new.
This vintage secretary came from England and was in good condition but drab. A shabby chic makeover (including new leather) in soft gray with careful distressed has brought it up to date!
Another shabby chic project. This pretty nightstand had lovely fluted legs but needed a new top. We replaced this and stained in a natural finish while painting the rest of the nightstand a 'Paris gray' before adding gold highlights.
This Victorian English chest was badly damaged and needed some repair work. After completing the repairs, we decided to paint it in a crackle effect paint in cream with light brown paint underneath. Looked great!
Another piece from England. This attractive modern mirror was damaged and needed some TLC before we painted it in a cream chalk paint and finished with antique glazing with the wooden carving highlighted in gold.
A favorite project. This lovely piano/vanity stool was painted in cream chalk paint with light distressing to highlight the wooden carving. Finished with clear glaze. The cushion was reupholstered in gold fabric.
This small table had pretty carvings on the legs but with damaged veneer on top was unuseable. We replaced the veneer and then painted the table in a light green with off white dry painting to highlight the pretty carvings. Looked great!

Our client wanted some family furniture updated in time for a new arrival. Just painted, not shabby chic so we sprayed in Benjamin Moore Advance Simply White paint which with the new sparkly knobs gave the pieces a contempory twist.
This stool was finished in cream chalk paint with light distressing to highlight the detail on the legs before adding gold highlights and antique glaze. The top was finished naturally by staining before sealing with varnish.
This attractive wicker table needed a gentle renovation. We refinished the top to bring out the beauty of the oak top by staining and sealing with varnish before painting the wicker base in Benjamin Moore Advance paint.
This vintage chair has been brought up to date. Painted in soft cream, gently distressed and then reupholstered in a pretty Laura Ashley fabric.
