Who are we and what do people say about us?
Heirloom Restored are Dewey and Joanne Crosby, a transatlantic couple who love the creativity of refurbishment and renovating furniture and making other craft items together. Dewey is a master woodworker with an eye for detail and the original 'Mr Fixit'. He has for over three decades been lovingly restoring, repairing, and refinishing furniture and antiques, in addition to fabricating his own furniture, windows, and doors as well as other speciality woodcrafts. Even as a child he was always most at home in his grandfather's workshop or helping his dad with projects around the home.
Dewey uses a variety of techniques when restoring and refinishing furniture, blending both the traditions of master craftsmen of the past and modern technology, while drawing on his extensive knowledge of wood and finishes. His approach is friendly, professional, and service oriented, with his mantra being 'unless the customer is happy, I'm not happy'. For Dewey giving a loved piece of furniture a fresh lease of life is a joy, he is passionate about woodcraft and loves the challenge of restoring a piece. The customer's needs always come first and before starting a project Dewey likes a detailed consultation to ensure that the finish and products are appropriate for the piece and needs of the client, while following the intent of the original craftsman.
Joanne is 'Little Miss Crafts' who has spent her adult life remodeling old English houses and loves decorating and crafting in general. She loves the concept of 'reloving' furniture by giving it a new lease of life via traditional restoring/refinishing or getting her paint brush out and making it 'shabby chic'.
